The President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul BIYA, met with General Dagvin Anderson, commander of U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), at Unity Palace on 19 September 2025.

They discussed a wide range of issues, focusing on reinforcing military partnership in the fight against terrorism in the Lake Chad Basin.

Speaking to reporters, General Dagvin Anderson said the U.S. has a longstanding history of working together with Cameroonians. He announced that both countries will co-host the Obangame Express in 2026.
