Hamza Amari Claims Yellow Jersey at the 2026 Chantal BIYA cycling Tour

Algerian cyclist Hamza Amari has been crowned overall champion of the 26th edition of the Chantal BIYA International Grand Prix, capping a formidable campaign that included victory on Stage 4 between Sangmelima and Meyomessala.

The closing ceremony at the 20th May Boulevard was graced by Cameroon's First Lady, Chantal BIYA, patron of the competition, who personally invested Amari with the coveted yellow jersey. She equally gave commemorative gifts upon all riders, a gesture emblematic of her abiding commitment to sport, youth development, and Cameroon's international standing.

Contested from 2 to 6 September under the auspices of the Cameroonian Cycling Federation and the African Cycling Confederation, the UCI 2.2-rated race spanned five stages, concluding in Yaounde with a stage victory for France's Guillaume Deurweilier.
