First Lady Madam Chantal BIYA graced the military and civilian march past in Yaounde where she took up position besides her husband President Paul BIYA. Madam Chantal BIYA enthusiastically applauded the various groups that took part in the parade.

Madam Chantal BIYA arrived the 20th May Boulevard shortly before the scheduled arrival of the President of the Republic. She greeted several personalities already present in the grand stand, in her usual flair for a personal touch, and then took her seat to await the arrival of the President of the Republic.

The First Lady joined the Head of State and other personalities in acknowledging the military march past as she stood throughout the exercise. Madam BIYA also cheered and clapped as the various participants marched past the grand stand, adding a warm female touch to the celebration that was highly appreciated.
