On 12 November 2019, the First Lady – Mrs Chantal BIYA took part in a working lunch on “Education of the Young Girl”, organised at the Elysee Palace by the spouse of the French President – Mrs Brigitte MACRON. This held on the sidelines of the second Paris Peace Forum.
The education of the girl child is among the top priorities of Mrs Chantal BIYA who is UNESCO’s Goodwill Ambassador for Education and Social Inclusion. This has been demonstrated through the activities of institutions such as the Chantal BIYA Foundation and the Circle of Friends of Cameroon (CERAC). The First Lady’s contributions include; the provision of scholarships as well as the construction and rehabilitation of schools.
