The founding president of the Circle of Friends of Cameroon (CERAC), First Lady Chantal BIYA, attended the 31st General Assembly of the humanitarian and non-profit association on 16 January 2025.
CERAC members, under the leadership of the Deputy General Coordinator Mrs Angele Ndo, presented a positive balance sheet of their activities in 2024 and outlined their 2025 plan of action. In unison, they reiterated their steadfast determination to work for a more inclusive society, the well-being and development of children, and the empowerment of girls and women in Cameroon.
Mrs Chantal BIYA, UNESCO's Goodwill Ambassador for Education and Social Inclusion, in the company of some executive members, distributed gifts to children from two orphanages in Yaounde, and victims of the November 2024 landslide at the Dschang cliff. The beneficiaries expressed their profound gratitude with songs that lauded CERAC’s force of solidarity and highlighted First Lady Chantal BIYA’s motherly love and outstanding generosity.
The event concluded with a gala organized at the premises of the CERAC headquarters in Yaounde. The show was characterized by live performances from artists such as Prince Aimé, Lucky +2, Stanley Enow, Annie Anzouer, Tsimi Toro, Misse Ngoh, and Toto Guillaume.
