The President of the Republic His Excellency Paul BIYA and his wife Madam Chantal BIYA landed at the Tiko airport this Tuesday 18 February at the beginning of an official visit to the South West Region during which he will preside over celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of the Reunification of Cameroon on Thursday 20 February 2014. The Head of State and the First Lady received a magnificent welcome of the population of the South West that thronged the entire itinerary from Tiko through Likomba to Mutegene and up to Buea. The presence of President Paul BIYA was seen as a clear indication of his intention to make the anniversary celebration a memorable event.
Preparations for the celebration have moved into high gear as people are busy mobilising the population for a massive turn out and final touches are being put on renovation and cleaning of the surroundings.
