The Head of State His Excellency Paul BIYA and Madam Chantal BIYA left Yaoundé on Tuesday 1st April 2014 en route to Brussels where the President of the Republic will join his colleagues for the EU-Africa Summit scheduled to hold from the 2nd and 3rd April 2014. The Head of State is accompanied by an official delegation of several ministers, especially those in charge of the economic sectors.
The theme of the summit, “Investing in people, prosperity and peace” will be the main focus of discussions between African and European Union leaders as well as European Union and African Unions institutions.
It should be recalled that lore than sixty per cent of the external trade of Cameroon is with the European Union which is also the first development partner of Cameroon.
Before departing from the Nsimalen International airport, the Head of State granted brief audiences to the President of the Senate Marcel NIAT NJIFENJI; the Speaker of the National Assembly, CAVAYE YEGUIE DJIBRIL; the Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic, Ferdinand NGOH NGOH; and the Prime Minister and Head of Government Philemon YANG.
