The Head of State His Excellency Paul BIYA granted audience on Thursday 3rd April 2014 to the President of the transition in the Central African Republic, Madam Catherine SAMBA-PANZA, on the side-lines of the 4th EU – Africa summit. Their discussions were centred on ways to find a lasting solution to the conflicts that have been raging in Central African Republic. The dramatic consequences on the population are being felt in Cameroon where numerous refugees are staying, a situation that is very pre-occupying for the Cameroonian authorities.
Speaking to the press shortly after the audience, Madam Catherine SAMBA-PANZA regretted that she had not yet gone to meet her brother, President Paul BIYA, who has a lot of experience as Head of State and to discuss with him the disastrous situation in the Central African Republic. The audience was an opportunity for President Paul BIYA to be briefed on what is actually going on in the CAR and what can be done to get a lasting solution to the problem.
