The warmth and charity of the First Lady Madam Chantal BIYA brought smiles and jubilation to thousands of children at the Chantal BIYA Foundation on Wednesday 23 December 2015 as she lit the Christmas tree and handed out gifts to mark the end of year festivities.
The distribution of Christmas gifts to children at the Chantal BIYA Foundation started at the esplanade with the beneficiaries taking turns to receive their parcels from Madam Chantal BIYA, who was assisted by the Minister of Public Health André MAMA FOUDA and authorities of the Foundation. She later went round to visit all the Pavilions of the Foundation, distributing more gifts at each stop.
The First Lady visited the Cardio-respiratory Paediatric Surgery of the Mother and Child Centre under construction. The structure consists of a four storey building with a basement and the construction work is estimated at 60% as of date.
The visit of Madam Chantal BIYA at the Chantal BIYA Foundation was characterised by singing and dancing by various groups who praised the humanitarian works of the First Lady and prayed God to pour his blessings on the Presidential Couple.
