First Lady Madam Chantal BIYA personally presided over the lighting of the Christmas tree at “Les Coccinelles” school complex in Unity Palace on Monday 21 December 2015 during a very colourful and lively ceremony attended by pupils, parents, teachers and some members of Government.
The First Lady was received on arrival in the school complex by Madam Youssouf ADJIDJA ALIM, Minister of Basic Education and MOUNOUNA FOUTSOU, Minister of Youth and Civic Education. For close to two hours, the wife of the Head of State and invitees were thrilled by the pupils and the programme also included handing over of Christmas gifts and a tour of all the classrooms to see the work of the children.
