An Italian virologist, Professor Vittorio Colizzi has been received in audience by the Director of the Civil Cabinet, Minister Martin Belinga Eboutou on behalf of the Head of State.
They met at the Unity Palace on 20 July 2017. Both personalities discussed on the fight against cancer in Cameroon, as outlined in a cooperation agreement signed in March 2017 during President Paul BIYA’s State visit to Italy.
Speaking to journalists after the audience, Professor Vittorio Colizzi said he was satisfied with the Head of State’s interest in the establishment of a centre to combat cancer in Cameroon. The Head of the Immunochemical and Molecular Pathology laboratory in the biology department of Tor Vergata University in Rome equally congratulated the government for containing the prevalence of HIV/AIDS
