The President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul BIYA signed a series of decrees on 8 April 2025.

One of the texts appointed Mrs Monique Ouli Ndongo as a new member of the Constitutional Council for a six-year term, which may be renewed. A native of the Kadey Division in the East region, she replaces Mr Emmanuel Bonde, who has passed away recently.

Composed of eleven members, the Constitutional Council is set to play a decisive role in the upcoming presidential election. According to the Constitution of the Republic, the Constitutional Council ensures that presidential and parliamentary elections, as well as referenda, are conducted per the law. It is also charged with the proclamation of the official results of these consultations.
