The President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul BIYA, and his wife, Mrs. Chantal BIYA are in New York. This is in prelude to the 72nd ordinary session of the United Nations General Assembly, which is holding under the theme: Focusing on the People: Striving for Peace and a Decent Life for all on a Sustainable Planet.
The plane carrying President Paul BIYA and First Lady Chantal BIYA landed at the J.F. Kennedy International Airport on 17 September 2017. Their motorcade drove straight to the Lotte New York Palace where a jubilant crowd of US-based Cameroonians accorded them a hilarious and grandiose reception.
Cameroon’s Head of State was invited by the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres. H.E. Paul BIYA will address the annual conclave of Heads of State, Government and delegations on 22 September 2017.
