The Head of State His Excellency Paul BIYA and First Lady Mrs. Chantal BIYA arrived Paris the evening of the 24th July for the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games. The Presidential Couple landed at the Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport at 7.30 pm, and Cameroon's Ambassador to France, Andre Magnus EKOUMOU was on hand to receive them.
The Presidential motorcade which included French and Cameroonian security officials left the airport and headed to the Four Seasons George V Hotel at the Centre of the city. At the entrance of the hotel, they received bouquets of flowers from two ten-year-old children, Johane Serena Ndem and Cyprain Oneil Akwo respectively, before shaking hands with the manager of the hotel and the wife of the Ambassador of Cameroon to France.
The members of the official delegation accompanying the Head of State lined up to greet them, followed by the staff of the Embassy in France and some prominent members of the Cameroonian community.
During President Paul BIYA’s stay in France, he will partake at the reception offered by French President Emmanuel Macron in the gardens of the Elysee Palace at 4.30 pm on Friday 26 July 2024 before going for the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games at Trocadero, situated at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, a world famous landmark of Paris.
