Biya and Jinping Deepen Sino-Cameroon Ties in Beijing with Five Cooperation Agreements
The President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul BIYA and Mrs. Chantal BIYA received a magnificent welcome from the President of the People’s Republic of China – H.E. Xi JINPING and his wife at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. This marked the start of the Cameroonian leader’s three-day State visit to the brotherly and friendly country.

At the invitation of H.E. XI JINPING, President of the People's Republic of China, His Excellency Paul BIYA, President of the Republic of Cameroon, and his wife Mrs Chantal BIYA, left Yaounde late this morning Sunday, 18 March 2018, for Beijing on a State Visit to the People's Republic of China.

On the occasion of his State visit to the People’s Republic of China, President Paul BIYA was elevated by President XI JINPING to the prestigious rank of “A Great Friend of China”. This is an eloquent testimony that Sino-Cameroon relations have been solid and mutually beneficial.

Presidential Couple returns from One Planet Summit
The President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul BIYA and wife, Mrs. Chantal BIYA have arrived in Yaounde. The plane carrying the Presidential Couple from Paris – France, touched the tarmac of the Nsimalen International Airport this evening – 15 December 2017.

The President of the Republic and First Lady Chantal BIYA left the French capital this afternoon – 15 December 2017 – to Yaounde. This marked the end of the Head of State’s stay in Paris, where he took part in the climate summit christened: “One Planet Summit”. Cameroon’s Ambassador to France - H.E. Samuel Mvondo Ayolo and his wife were present at the Bourget airport to bid farewell to the Presidential Couple.
President Paul BIYA’s Remarkable Presence at the One Planet Summit
In line with his constant commitment to the protection of the environment and the fight against climate change, the President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul BIYA, took part in the “One Planet Summit” in Paris on 12 December 2017. Co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, and World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim, the summit held at the Seine Musicales – Seguin Island. It brought together some 60 Heads of State and Government, representatives of international finance and major global companies. Convened two years after COP21, which culminated in the signing of the historic Paris Climate Agreement, “One Planet Summit” aimed to rekindle the flame of countries’ commitment to fight climate change and to promote the mobilisation of funding for climate actions.

His Excellency Paul BIYA was warmly welcomed on 12 December 2017 by President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysée Palace – where a special lunch was offered to Heads of State and Government – prior to the official opening of the “One Planet Summit” in Paris.
