The Head of State His Excellency Paul BIYA signed a Presidential Decree on 23 January 2014 to set up a specialised hospital to take care of mother and child issues in Douala. This instrument formally gives legal existence to the hospital structure that has already been constructed in the Yassa neighbourhood in Douala, to the great delight and satisfaction of the people of the city.
