The Head of State His Excellency Paul BIYA and Mrs. Chantal BIYA left Yaounde in the early afternoon of Friday 28 November 2014 for Dakar in Senegal where they will participate in the 15th Summit of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie.

The Nsimalen International Airport was very busy today morning as things were made ready for the journey of the Presidential Couple to Senegal. The premises of the Presidential Lodge at the airport were kept tidy, the red carpet was put in place and elements of the Presidential Guard took up position both for security and to mount a guard of honour.

The motorcade of the Head of State swept into the airport shortly after mid-day and on hand to welcome the President of the Republic and his wife were all the important State dignities: Marcel NIAT NJIFENJI, the President of the Senate; CAVAYE YEGUIE DJIBRIL, the Speaker of the National Assembly; Philemon YANG, the Prime Minister; Ferdinand NGOH NGOH, the Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic; Martin BELINGA EBOUTOU, the Director of the Civil Cabinet; Jean NKUETE, the Secretary General of the CPDM; and a host of members of Government Ministers and Administrative Officers.

President Paul BIYA gave last minute instructions to the Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic during a brief audience. Meanwhile First Lady Chantal BIYA had a chat with the wives of the close collaborators of the Head of State in an adjourning room.

The Presidential Couple later boarded the plane en route to Senegal where they will meet other leaders for the Francophonie Summit.
