The President of the Republic and Madam Chantal BIYA have left Buea for Yaounde after spending five days in the historic town during which he presided over celebrations to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Reunification of Cameroon. It was a moment of intense emotion for the Presidential Couple and the population of the South West Region as the helicopter took off from the Presidential Residence in Buea.
Prior to their departure, the President of the Republic granted a series of audiences to some dignitaries of the South West Region:
- The Mayor of Buea, the host town of the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Reunification of Cameroon. He expressed gratitude for the several projects that have given a facelift to the town of Buea.
- CPDM elites and official, led by John EBONG NGOLLE, Member of the political Bureau, who headed a delegation of 29 personalities. They briefed the Head of State on the life of the party in the South West Region.
- A delegation of legislators, that is Senators and Members of the National Assembly, who discussed some of the aspects of life in the Region to the President of the Republic.
- The custodians of tradition were led by Chief Samuel LIFAFA ENDELEY. The delegation of the South West Chiefs Conference also hailed the leadership of President Paul BIYA for the peace and stability in Cameroon.
- The audience ended with Administrative authorities led by the Governor of the South West Region, Bernard OKALIA BILAї, with the Senior Divisional Officers of all the Divisions of the South West Region.
