Mrs. Chantal BIYA has received 2018 New Year wishes from over 1,000 women in a ceremony organised at the East Wing of the Unity Palace on 5 January. This was a day after a similar exercise was accorded to President Paul BIYA by Members of the Diplomatic Corps and National Dignitaries.
Mrs. Chantal BIYA was guest of honour at the 2017 edition of the Miss Cameroon beauty pageant, which was organised by the Miss Cameroon Committee (COMICA) at the Yaounde Congress Centre on 30 December.
In continuation of her busy end-of-year schedule, Mrs. Chantal BIYA brought joy and merry making to the patients, staff and guests of the Applied Research, Endoscopic Surgery and Human Reproduction Hospital Centre, better known by the French acronym CHRACERH. Several Members of Government and senior dignitaries of the Republic attended the event that was organised on Saturday 23 December 2017.
At least 1,500 underprivileged children – pupils from seven primary schools, orphans of the Children First Centre, and patients at the Mother and Child Centre – have received Christmas gifts donated by Mrs. Chantal BIYA, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador and Special Ambassador of UNAIDS.
Mrs. Chantal BIYA – patroness of the Coccinelles school complex at the Unity Palace – has in her traditional gesture of motherly love – encouraged pupils of the establishment to maintain their outstanding output. This was during a colourful ceremony organised on 21 December 2017 at the campus to mark the start of the Christmas break.
Mrs. Chantal BIYA, Founding President and Chairperson of the Circle of Friends of Cameroon (CERAC), presided over the 25th General Assembly of the humanitarian association on 20 December 2017.
