The First Lady Madam Chantal BIYA took smiles and gifts that brought a high dose of joy to the children and other patients hospitalised at the Chantal BIYA Foundation of the Yaoundé Central Hospital on 21 December 2012

The colourful ceremony started at 11 am with arrival of the First Lady. Madam Chantal BIYA was welcomed by a large crowd of administrative and political authorities, medical personnel, children and other invitees. She visited the various wards of the Foundation, sharing gifts and bringing words of consolation to the sick children or their parents. Outside, dance groups dressed in various colours danced and sang to give music and sound to the occasion.

By the end of the day, Madam Chantal BIYA gave gifts to over 2 000 children of the Chantal BIYA Foundation, the Child First Centre and other children selected from the seven sub-divisions of Yaoundé.
