The President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul Biya, chaired an important Council of Ministers meeting today, Tuesday, 9 December 2014 from 12 noon at Unity Palace. The meeting was devoted to the Emergency Plan for the Acceleration of Growth in Cameroon.
After attending the very successful 15th Summit of the Francophonie in Dakar Senegal, the Head of State His Excellency Paul BIYA and his wife Mrs. Chantal BIYA returned to Yaounde on Monday 1 December 2014. The Presidential Couple was welcomed at the Nsimalen International airport by a host of senior personalities including the President of the Senate Marcel NIAT NJIFENJI; the Speaker of the National Assembly CAVAYE YEGUIE DJIBRIL; the Prime Minister Head of Government Philemon YANG; the Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic Ferdinand NGOH NGOH; several Ministers and Administrative Officials.
The President of the Republic, H.E. Paul Biya, presided over this Sunday, November 23, 2014, at the Yaounde Omnisports Stadium, the 55th edition of the Cup of Cameroon. This marked the end of the sports season 2014. The match was won by Coton Sport (2-0) against Panther of Nde.
The Head of State His Excellency Paul BIYA signed Presidential Decree No 2014/451 of 7 November 2014 appointing Mrs. ELANGUE née EVA ETONGUE MAYER as the Secretary General of the National Commission for Human Rights and Freedoms.

The Elysée Summit for Peace and Security in Africa was held in Paris on 6-7 December. It dealt with peace and security in Africa, the economic partnership and development, and climate change.
Fifty-three delegations from African countries and France took part in the Summit, as well as representatives from the United Nations, the African Union, the European Union, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the African Development Bank.
