The Head of State His Excellency Paul BIYA and Madam Chantal BIYA returned to Yaoundé on Saturday 12 September 2015 after a brief private stay in Europe. The Presidential Couple landed at the Nsimalen International Airport in Yaoundé shortly after 4 pm and were warmly received by senior State personalities and an enthusiastic crowd of party militants and well-wishers.

Cameroon and Nigeria will hence forth step up their concerted action so as to rapidly end the scourge of the Boko Haram terrorist group. This was made clear by the joint communique read at the end of the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Cameroon by the Permanent Secretary at the Nigerian Ministry of Defence, Mr. Alhadji ALIYU ISMAILA, and Cameroon’s Minister of External Relations, Professor Pierre MOUKOKO MBONJO.

The Nigerian Air Force plane touched down at the Yaounde Nsimalen Airport at 11 am on Wednesday 29 July 2015 as President Muhammadu Buhari started a two day friendly and working visit to Cameroon. President Paul BIYA was at the foot of the plane and welcomed his guest with a very warm and friendly accolade. The Nigerian President was then given a bouquet of flowers before receiving military honours, with the execution of the Nigerian and Cameroonian anthems.

President Paul BIYA and Madam Chantal BIYA received over 12 000 invitees at Unity Palace on 20 May 2015 for the traditional grand reception that is a hallmark of National Day festivities in the Nation’s capital. People from all walks of live jammed full the banquet hall and the gardens of Unity Palace to savour dishes that were a marvellous blend of Cameroonian and African cuisine, in an atmosphere of light hearted discussions and camaraderie.

The Head of State His Excellency Paul BIYA presided over a bright and colourful march past in Yaoundé to celebrate the 43rd edition of the National Day. A special detachment of troops from Chad took part in the military parade which took place this year under the theme: “Defence forces and the Nation’s vital forces: Acting in synergy to meet security challenges and preserve peace and stability in Cameroon and Central Africa”.
