President Paul BIYA and First Lady Chantal BIYA were among the top guests of a Welcome Reception, hosted by His Excellency President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation on 27 July 2023, in honour of the participating Heads of State and Government in the second Russia-Africa Summit in St.Petersburg, Russia.
The President of the Republic His Excellency Paul BIYA and Mrs. Chantal BIYA landed at the Pulkovo airport in Saint Petersburg at about 8h 50 today morning (6h 50 in Yaounde) for the Russia – Africa summit. They were greeted on arrival by Cameroon’s Ambassador to Russia, H.E. Mahamat Paba Sale and some Russian Foreign Ministry and local officials.
At the invitation of His Excellency Vladimir Vladimirovitch PUTIN, President of the Russian Federation, His Excellency Paul BIYA, President of the Republic of Cameroon, left Yaounde today, accompanied by his wife, Mrs Chantal BIYA, to attend the 2nd Russia-Africa Summit which will be held in Saint-Petersburg from 26 to 30 July 2023.

He later participated at a panel discussion on the theme: “Recognising the South for a more equitable global governance”.
The President of the Republic His Excellency Paul BIYA took part on Monday 11 November 2019 at the diner offered by French President Emmanuel MACRON at the Elysee Palace in Paris. The event is intended to honour the Heads of State and Government and the leaders of International Organisations present in Paris to attend the Paris Peace Forum and to commemorate the 11th of November, a World War I memorial day in France.
