The opening session of the 72nd UN General Assembly debates started on 19 September 2017 with the distinguished presence of the President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul BIYA.
The President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul BIYA, and his wife, Mrs. Chantal BIYA are in New York. This is in prelude to the 72nd ordinary session of the United Nations General Assembly, which is holding under the theme: Focusing on the People: Striving for Peace and a Decent Life for all on a Sustainable Planet.
At the invitation of the His Excellency Antonio GUTERRES, Secretary-General of the United Nations Organization, His Excellency Paul BIYA, President of the Republic of Cameroon, and his wife, Mrs Chantal BIYA, left Yaounde late this Thursday morning, 14 September 2017, to take part in the 72nd Ordinary Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States of America.
The President of the Republic of Cameroon, His Excellency Paul BIYA, has joined forces with regional leaders to stabilise the economies of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community, CEMAC.
The convening of an extraordinary summit of Central African Heads of State by President Paul BIYA has been welcomed by his counterparts.
The President of Senegal, His Excellency Macky SALL has commended Cameroon’s much-envied status in Africa under the visionary leadership of President Paul BIYA. The Senegalese leader made the acknowledgement during a visit to Cameroon on Monday 28 November 2016.
A very warm and friendly welcome from the President of the Republic His Excellency Paul BIYA was reserved for President Idriss DEBY ITNO as he touched down at the Yaounde Nsimalen International airport on Friday 28 October 2016. The Chadian President also received full military honours amid a general atmosphere of cordiality and brotherliness between Cameroon and Chad.
