The President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul BIYA met the French Diplomat at Unity Palace today.
Both personalities had a 90-minute conversation that touched key subjects of common interest – at the bilateral and multilateral levels – with a special focus on the security crises in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
According to Ambassador Thierry Marchand, his first ever tête-à-tête with the Head of State was warm and fruitful – with a comprehensive approach – that granted them the opportunity to examine the current international situation and the state of the longstanding cooperation ties that exist between Yaounde and Paris.
He seized the opportunity to thank President Paul BIYA for his legendary hospitality throughout President Emmanuel Macron’s official visit to Cameroon in July 2022.
H.E. Thierry Marchand also announced the participation of the French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs in the 44th Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie, which will be organised in Cameroon from the 3rd to the 4th of November 2023.
